Friday - Packraft Safety and Rescue
On Friday, prior to the Benelux Packraft Meetup, there will be a Packraft Safety and Rescue workshop. This is a training opportunity for both beginners and experienced packrafters and aims to give you the confidence to paddle whitewater rivers we will encounter during the meetup.
All information on this one-day course can be found here. The course will be in English with French and Dutch ‘subtitles’.
The course will be organised at MAVA, the whitewater training course near Liège.

Saturday & Sunday - Benelux Packraft Meetup
Arrival starting from Friday afternoon. Event ends on Sunday evening.
Obviously, we will go paddling on saturday and sunday, but plans are made on the spot, at your initiative and based on different skill levels. The region offers a lot of opportunities, for example:
* Sûre from Martelange
* Clerve (Clervaux – Kautenbach)
* Wiltz (Wiltz – Kautenbach)
* Some Belgian rivers are easily accessible
All information on the rivers in Luxemburg is available through the buttons. The whitewater level depends on the water level, but never exceeds class II-III.
Saturday evening
On Saturday evening, we will screen one or more packraft movie(s) to get you inspired for future trips and expeditions. Cosy and warm inside the bar of the campsite!
Monday - Packraft Testival with Alpacka Raft, MRS, Mekong, ...
Are you interested in the latest developments in the world of packrafting? Join us on monday for the testival, until +- 15h.
On Monday morning we will gather around a pile of different packrafts and have the gear talk. There is a river section in front of the campsite available for testing.
Thomas (Grizzly Outdoor Packrafting) will be present as retailer for Alpacka Raft. Packraften.be is retailer for Mekong and MRS. We might get Maxime Richard from Left and Right as well.
The testival will only be organised if enough people are interested. Please select the testival during your reservation to secure a spot.
All gear (packrafts, pfd, drysuit, paddles, …) will be available for testing for free.
Location and accommodation
Camping Kautenbach, 3 An der Weierbaach, L-9663 Kautenbach. Check them out!
The Benelux Packraft Meetup will be organised from Camping Kautenbach. This camping is located at the banks of the Clerve river.
The campsite is offering the following accommodation, which you have the book yourself. Please mention the Benelux Packraft Meet-up in your reservation.
TENT: You have to book the spot for your tent yourself through the camping’s website.
CAMPERVAN: The camping has several spots for campervans. You have to book the spot yourself through the camping’s website.
CABIN: The camping has wooden cabins and pods available. You have to book the cabin yourself through the camping’s website.

Safety
You are responsible for your own safety during every aspect of the event.
Safety is crucial and our community has a big responsibility to improve awareness for the risks of packrafting. It is obligatory to bring at least a CE approved whitewater helmet and CE approved whitewater PFD.
EXTRA GEAR
We have drysuits (S – XXL) for rent at 20 euro a day. We also have PFD’s and helmets available. Please mention your interest through the registration form and we get in touch.
All extra gear is provided when you stay on Monday.
Support River Cleanup
The registration for this Benelux Packraft Meetup is free, but we would like to ask you to make a donation to River Cleanup. This organisation is doing a huge, worldwide, effort to clean our rivers from plastic and other human waste. They are still organising regular clean-up events in the areas that suffered from the July 2021 flooding event in eastern Belgium.
